This is the first official post of “The Dry Standard” 🍾 ← and that’s, of course, a bottle of Martinelli’s, not champagne.
We started from a simple complaint—which is how most great things start.
Why are all of the fun activities for adults tied to alcohol?
I’m someone who enjoys the occasional cocktail. But I really can’t say I know much about wine or beer. I’m ashamed to say that I can hardly tell the difference between a “good” wine or a bad one.
Having a fun night out as an adult can incorporate so many other things, like having a paint night, building with LEGOs, playing a board game, setting up a tennis match—but why are these events so much harder to find?
Oftentimes they’re set up by already existing groups of friends, but what happens if you’re new to the city? I’ve found some wonderful events on Meetup, but felt like they were inconsistent.
So here’s the problem “The Dry Standard” sets out to solve.
I want to make it easy for you to find the events you’ll be excited about. Each are carefully curated and tagged for easy filtering by categories like price, location, interests, etc.
You can connect with others before and after attending these events by joining our private Slack community. There will be a brief application process to join.
Thanks for joining us here, and I can’t wait to see how we grow together! 💚
